FAQ

When & Where is the Halal Food Festival in Chicago?
Chicago’s 2nd Annual Halal Festival will be held at the UIC Forum in University Village on October 25 & 26, 2014.  The address is 725 W. Roosevelt Rd, Chicago, IL 60607.

What are the Festival hours? When should I arrive?
Festival hours are:

Saturday, October 25, 2014
11am-10pm (doors close at 9pm)

Sunday, October 26, 2014
11am-7pm (doors close at 6pm)

We anticipate that it will get busy this year, so we suggest arriving as early as possible to beat the rush.

Is there an entry fee?
Tickets are available at the door on the day of the event for $7/person. Children 5 and under are free.

Is there parking available?
All day parking at the special rate of $8.50 is available 2 blocks west of the UIC Forum at 1135 S. Morgan St. Lot 5. Street parking is also available. For more information click HERE.

Will Zabiha Halal vendors also be present?
We understand the issues surrounding halal meat. We are working closely with our vendors to have a sign at each table that will specify what type of halal products they serve (ex, zabihah etc.)

What if it rains? Will the festival still be taking place?
UIC Forum is a state-of-the-art indoor facility, so the festival will take place rain or shine.

What types of payments do the vendors accept?
Food can be purchased with cash. While some vendors may have the ability to accept credit card payments, it is highly recommended to bring cash. Each vendor will have their own pricing displayed. Please make sure to bring enough cash to try all your favorite vendors.
